Blaupunkt mobile accessories review: value for money with high quality standards

Germany based technology and consumer lifestyle brand Blaupunkt recently forayed into Indian markets. Blaupunkt has partnered with New Delhi based Vidur and Co. to introduce the products in SAARC markets. We have got three products from the company for review and we would like to share the experience using these accessories with you. To begin with the accessories we got for review are Blaupunkt wired earphone, car charger and USB cable.

 USB Cable:

The USB Cable from Blaupunkt we got is a micro to USB 2.0 cable with quick charging and quick data sync support, the micro USB part looks sturdy and hence gives confidence for durability of the same. The cable comes with more copper cables inside as claimed by the company and hence it supports Quick charge without any issues. (Quick charge capability depends on your charger output and phone SoC support). The cable comes with International Certification Quality and UI Approved cables and ROHS.

Car Charger:

The Car charger excited me the most as it offers so much for the price its available on Amazon. The car charger turned out to be a multi functional tool, first it has dual output, so you can charge two devices simultaneously. Each port can give 2.4 A max and 3.0 A max in total, which means you can get a quick charge when charging single device however while charging two devices at a time expect more time to get full charge.

This is more or less expected from a car charger but it comes with two pretty useful functionalities as the tip can be used to break the car glass in case of any emergency, and if you are stuck with your seat belt it has a very safe cutter which can be rubbed against the seat belt to cut it, if any such situation arises.

The coolest thing about this accessory is that it has a blue back lit branding when connected with the power socket of the car.

The Ear-Phones:

We got in Earphones, with flat cable which makes them tangle free and easy to handle, we liked the slider volume control where in you can slide the slider down to lower the volume and move it upwards to increase it. The headphones comes with silicone ear tips and offers average bass and can handle a wider range of music for the one who wants to enjoy music on the go. 

The ear phones comes with built in mic and pause button as well but it is not mounted on the same attachment as volume slider which adds to some confusion while using it and I personally did not like two different attachments which we are used to see as one. To conclude the earphones with tangle free cable, slider volume control and ability to handle a high range of frequency that too without cutting a deep hole in your pocket makes this earphone to enter our recommendation list.

5 Reasons why you should not inherit your parent's College for education

Recently we wrote about the season of anxiety around this time of the year. The  new financial year, academic year starts around this time. The reason of such feelings is discussed in details for different people in the post referred above, however for this post we would focus on the students that too who would be stepping in college for the first time i.e. the 12th passed. The college life is a dream for many years for these students, this is the stage that would shape their career, this is the stage when they won't be treated as small kids and expected to behave professionally and with maturity, this will be the time for most of these kids to get rid of boring school uniforms, and not to forget the role of Bollywood and Indian TV to add glamour to this part in journey of education which is part true, part unreal.

Having said that, in Indian society parents  has a different approach in making decisions for majority of things in their children's lives. The typical middle class family has same characteristics across the country, children are never grown up for them. When a student passes out of 10th standard, the parents decide which stream their ward should be in, mostly regardless of child's interest. Professional Courses: There is a very famous joke in Indian society, "20 years earlier, if someone asked the address of Engineer Sahab, people would drop the person traveling kilometers to reach Mr. Engineer Sahab, now you ask for address of an Engineer anyone would say, knock any door out there , chances are any Engineer would open the door for you". This is not just a joke, it shows how the professional courses are becoming increasingly accessible and variety of courses are available. Its not like "Meri beti Engineer/doctor banegi". There are tons of other opportunities there, be it journalism, mass communications, lifestyle experts, tutors. So your options are much more open than your parents ever had at their time.

Explore something new (on a lighter note) : Haven't you heard a lot about your parent's college all these years. Its time for a change, explore something new and don't leave any stone un-turned to  boast about your college in front of your parents. :)

How to share pictures from Facebook on Whatsapp without downloading

How many times you have come across some image or joke shared on Facebook which you think worth sharing to your friends group in Whatsapp? Chances are it happens many times every day if you are an avid user of Facebook on your smartphone. So how do you do it? Till today I knew one way of doing it and that is , download image from Facebook, go to gallery open image and then click on share button to get option to share that on Whatsapp or any other social media. Well the other method we are going to share has to be better than this traditional approach and I am sure you will start using it often once you know about it.

How to do it in a better way?

It's not a hack or something we have discovered, this novel feature is provided by Facebook itself, but a very few people know about it.

Step1: Open any image from your Facebook application which you want to share on Whatsapp.

Step2: On bottom you will see options for like and comment, on top right corner you will see option to expand menu , a touch on this icon will open up the further options as shown in below image.

Step3: Touch on third option from the menu , which says "Share external", this will open up list of applications available on your phone where you can share the image as shown in below image. As you can see you have multiple choices here including Google+, Whatsapp and Facebook itself.

Step4: Click on WhatsApp from the available options list (or any other option wherever you want to share) , which will open up your WhatsApp contact list.

Step5: Select individual contact or a group and you are good to share desired image with your besties without having to download it.

How a simple hack turned $5 Amazon dash into multi purpose IOT device

Amazon recently launched its $5 dash buttons which allows you to order your house hold goods with just a click. These buttons are physical hardware buttons which can be set up to order a particular SKU on Amazon with just a click. The device makes it easier to order household goods like detergents, paper towels, diapers, personal care items etc. One device can be set up to order only one SKU, but CloudStitch CTO Ted Benson had other plans in his mind. He just hacked this petty device and found a way that can make these devices do pretty much everything he wants.

Ted, has detailed in a post on medium.com how he hacked the device to track his child's poops. He mentioned that impressive way to do this would have been to rip open the device  and reprogram it, however being a lazy dad he chose the other option of sniffing his wifi network whenever a device requested for a connection and then record a data point when it hears some.

By this time if you haven't clicked on the link above to see the detailed post, here is a summary of actions how this hack was done.

• First step is to configure your Amazon dash button as per the instructions provided except the last step where in you are asked to give the SKU of product you want to order. This will ensure that your device connects to your network and is ready to trigger some action when you push the button.
• Run a small python code written below to sniff your wifi network, to get details when the dash button is connected to wifi.
