Full charge in 15 minutes with Super VOOC Flash Charge and smart sensor based image stabilization tech announced by OPPO at MWC 2016

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO which is now globally known for its innovations and superior build quality has announced two new innovations in MWC 2016, which is going on currently in Barcelona.

OPPO smartphones are well known for innovations such as swivel camera, auto rotating swivel camera and VOOC Fast charging. Keeping the innovation fire alive OPPO has announced two new technologies in MWC 2016 one is its Super VOOC Flash Charge and other is using smart sensors for image stabilization.

OPPO announces Super VOOC Flash Charge at MWC 2016

Super VOOC Flash Charge: Giving a full charge in 15 minutes

OPPO's proprietary VOOC which takes on Quick Charge from Qualcomm is improved with the latest version dubbed as Super VOOC Flash charge which claims to charge your smartphone upto 45% in just 5 minutes, which also means that full charge of phone can be achieved in just 15 minutes.
Super VOOC uses 5V low voltage pulse-change algorithm which ensures low temperature charge which makes it safe for the battery. The new algorithm needs to be paired with new hardware which includes customized super battery, new adapter, cable and connector all of which is said to be made by Military grade materials. For comparison previous version of VOOC provided 2 hours of talktime when charged for 5 minutes, however with the latest Super VOOC flash charging user gets 10 hours of talktime when charging for 10 minutes. The company claims that the new technology can fully charge a 2500 mAh battery in just 15 minutes.

SmartSensor Image Stabilization: The first ever sensor-based, pixel-level optical image stabilizer

OPPO also announced  a solution to industry wide problem of image stabilization in mobile cameras, provided that smartphone cameras can be deal breaker in current scenario where mobile photography is very common in every part of the world. OPPO's solution is based on Micro-electro-Mechanical system (MEMS) , it is world's first sensor based solution for smartphones as well as smallest optical image stabilizer of any kind in the world. So, far Optical image stabilization is the only solution implemented for smartphones.

OPPO claims that current array of solutions are not perfect and can help vibrations on two axes of motion only which are the pitch axis and yaw axis, however the most common unwanted shaking during photography takes place on the roll axis.
SmartSensor solves this problem, allowing for image stabilization on three axes, pitch, yaw and the all-important roll. Making split-second adjustments with its comb-shaped monocrystalline silicon MEMS, SmartSensor achieves full three-axis image stabilization in a mere 15 milliseconds.

At the same time, SmartSensor uses a voltage-driven sensor, reducing power consumption to as low as 10 milliwatts, 50 times less than the power consumption of lens-based solutions.Lens-based systems, with their increased power consumption, can quickly heat up the module, affecting image quality, especially during extended photo shoots. But the low power consumption of the fine-tuned MEMS keeps temperatures low and preserves image quality even in long shooting sessions.

Meanwhile, whereas lens-based image stabilizers generally have a precion of between 3 and 5 μm, SmartSensor remains precise to a vibration of just 0.3μm. The size of a pixel is usually larger than 1 μm, meaning that SmartSensor is the world’s first pixel-level image stabilize.

With SmartSensor, OPPO smartphones become like pocket-sized SLR cameras, able to capture life’s beautiful moments in breathtaking detail. Even when lighting conditions aren’t ideal, such as at a party or concert, SmartSensor ensures clear and bright images by allowing a longer exposure time.
