Top 5 features of PicsArt Photo Editor App

Smart phones have changed the way we use our phones, one of the things that dramatically changed over the years is how we take photographs and share the same. Tech giants know that we all love sharing photos hence you have a lot of photo editing, sharing apps available on all marketplaces be it Android, iOS or Windows platforms.

We have been hearing a lot about one such app - PicsArt and decided to give it a try. I must say that we are impressed with the overwhelming features it provides for users to use. As a new user of the platform I am going to list top 5 features I liked about the application so far.

  1. One Stop Solution: The app is easy to setup and can be used for both videos and photos so no need to find different apps for different use cases. Once you are satisfied with the final version of your media you can directly share it to social media and to the followers on the app itself. So, edit photos, videos and share or save all from one app.
  2. Sketch tool: Sketch tool gives several different options to select from making the pencil outline as if it was a hand drawn sketch to giving the outline as a shadow , user can simply try and finalize the one they like for their image.

            3. Add Text to Videos: If you are a meme lover you would know how handy it becomes to have an app where you can use a video from your group and turn it into a meme by adding text to it. PicsArt allows you to do so in a very simplistic manner. The controls are self explanatory and you will always be a step ahead in your game with this app.

            4. Object Removal: Ever faced a situation where you have got a nice photo but someone passing by in background ruined the perfect frame? We all face it at sometime in our lives, specially the busy monuments, tourist attractions, beaches you are likely to be surrounded by people and randomness associated with it. PicsArt helps you in getting rid of unwanted objects from your background without even leaving a trace behind it. This also comes in handy when you have some objects you just dont want in your photograph.

            5. Replay: Replay is my personal favorite feature of PicsArt, Replay is basically a gif of set of transitions someone has applied on their images to give it artistic view. These replays are available for try and use giving step by step details of what needs to be done to achieve same effects or even you can customize the options as per your liking. Below is an example of the same.

My photo after using replay option, I changed one of the dust effects with Rain drops

The voice: the start of a Crush

Indian users highlighted that the voice of their Crush is an essential characteristic in online dating. According to a survey conducted by happn, 75% of respondents believe in voice’s importance while crushing on someone.  The tone of voice also plays a considerable role: 45% of respondents found a confident tone attractive, and 42% liked a gentler tone of voice. The survey also brought insight into how voice affected a potential Crush, wherein 33% of users felt that it would help develop a stronger connection. 27% of users felt that Voice or Awaaz of their Crush helps them picture a person even if they haven’t met them. Additionally, 89% of Indian users believed that voice would bring a different emotion in online dating, thus leading to faster real-life connections.

“Dating keeps reinventing itself every day,” says Karima Ben Abdelmalek, CEO of happn. “We’re sure that the next major development will be to offer singles more emotions in their experience, enabling them to truly recreate the feeling of a real-life encounter. These voice features are another step in the process, and we are continuing to innovate in this direction.”

happn voice: 3 key features

In the coming months, singles will be able to gradually discover new features which will help them get to know their Crush in brand-new ways. They include:

The audio note: happners will be able to add an audio note up to 2 minutes long to their profile. The idea to is introduce other singles to a different side of their personality. They will be able to talk about a subject of their choosing or, for those with less inspiration, use one of the in-app suggestions such as “Explain your favourite scene in Friends,” or “Hum your favourite song.”

The audio call: just like video calls, audio calls enable happners to keep talking to their Crush directly via the in-app messaging service.

The audio feed: happn will offer a feed of profiles in which users will first be able to discover the voice of their potential Crush before seeing the rest of their profile (photos, bio, etc.). They will have the chance to fall for a resonance or an emotion and take advantage of the opportunity to get to know someone in a completely different way.

“These features will be naturally and intuitively integrated into the app,” says Julie Prieur, Chief Product Officer at happn. “We have designed them to be compatible with the profile features already available to users. We have also added lots of suggestions to guide them, and we are sure that singles will adopt these new audio features in no time.”

These features will be free and available to all happners.

National Aerospace Laboratories Adopts Dassault Systèmes’ Solutions to Design Civil Aircraft in India

Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: FR0014003TT8, DSY.PA) announced that National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), a constituent of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has adopted the “Passenger Experience industry solution experience based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to design civil aircraft in India, specifically the Saras Mk-2 program. NAL is also using DraftSight, a feature-rich 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) solution for 2D design standardization in the manufacturing of civil aircraft.

The “Passenger Experience” industry solution experience helps in reducing engineering costs in cabin completion by up to 40% through engineering, manufacturing and certification processes automation. It also helps in increasing brand perception and reducing content creation by 40% for all passenger touch points for sales and marketing. “Passenger Experience” combines emotion and automation across engineering, manufacturing and certification processes to allow completion centres to deliver personalized cabin interiors profitably. The DraftSight solution unifies essential 2D drafting, advanced 2D CAD or all-in-one 2D and 3D design with full 3D capabilities for modelling, prototyping, manufacturing and laser cutting.

With the adoption of the “Passenger Experience” industry solution experience, and by replacing existing 2D CAD tools with DraftSight, NAL has expanded its usage of technology solutions from Dassault Systèmes. It has been using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in its overall mission and mandate to develop aerospace technologies with strong science content, to design and build small and medium-sized civil aircraft, and to support the nation’s regional connectivity plan such as UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik).

“The 3DEXPERIENCE platform-based ‘Passenger Experience’ solution has been deployed in designing the Cabin and Cockpit of the Saras Mk-2 program. Virtual twin-based insights offered by this solution helped us to configure the cabin for various use cases and scenarios,” said Jitendra J Jadhav, Director, NAL.

Saras Mk-2 will be a 19-seater aircraft with features like high cruise speed, lower fuel consumption, short landing and take-off distances, low cabin noise, pressurized cabins and low acquisition and maintenance costs.  It will be operable from high and hot airfields, and from semi-prepared airfields.

“As systems in the Aerospace and Defense industry become more complex to design, build and deliver, OEMs and suppliers need to accelerate innovation, drive efficiencies and adopt collaborative platforms to allow for greater agility on production rate. Dassault Systèmes is enabling companies in the sector by providing new ways to conceptualize, design, manufacture, test, certify and sustain new air and space vehicles,” said Deepak NG, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes. “We have long been an integral part of the aerospace industry globally and we intend to replicate the success in India through the association with NAL and in the local development of civil aircraft.”
