CREO's Fuel OS gets October update, makes recently used files and apps easy to access

As promised CREO is rolling out updates for its Fuel OS every month to give its users a new experience every month. Though a little late this time , the latest update was announced on October 21st.

The update as usual has few bug fixes which have been made to Dialer, Messaging, privacy and others aims to give customers a feeling of brand new phone with some add on to its high value feature the "Sense". For those who are not aware about this feature its like an advanced search app similar to Google Now that runs on Android Devices, but Sense has got its unique features such as you can enter a number in search bar and add a contact or you can directly use the search bar as a calculator by entering arithmetic equations. Before the latest update you could add up to 4 contacts to sense. Sense gets activated by a double tap on the homescreen.

Apart from existing features the new add on to Sense are :

  • Frequently used Apps: Four most used/accessed apps in past two days are listed.
  • Recently Added Files: Now you can easily access your latest added files (downloaded or side load), files can also be shared easily with a single tap.
  • Recent Music: The last 4 recently indexed music files also surface in the default screen, which opens directly with the default set music player on a single tap.
  • Recent Media: Recently accessed/downloaded/captured photos and videos will also be pinned to the default screen. On tapping images opens in Gallery and Video in default set video player.
October Update for Fuel OS
Though these updates are usually bug fixes and some minor tweaks but overall the experience and usability increases with each such update and shows how serious is organization towards its commitment.

CREO updates its Fuel OS with Audio Profiles, keeping its promise of 'new phone every month'

CREO, the Bangalore based consumer technology company recently announced new update to its proprietary FUEL OS. The latest update is focused on customizable Audio Effects, which allow users to natively change sound effects, across apps and system software; be it games or streaming or listening to stored music.

Sai Srinivas, CEO & Co-Founder, CREO, said “Audio has become integral to the modern day smartphone user - from music and movies to sound effects in games. When the feature suggestion came from our active community in CREO Forums, we realized we must build a universal and seamless solution to tuning music in Fuel OS, applicable for all apps and customizable to your output. With this update, we believe audio will never be the same on Fuel OS, starting this June”

Keeping up with the promise of a New Phone Every Month, by providing monthly OS level updates, CREO rolled out its first set of updates last month. With the Audio Effect feature added this month, users get a quick and easy way to enhance their media listening experience. The feature stems from the understanding that a user spends a lot of time consuming varied media on their smartphone and each media demands a different audio output. From gaming to listening to music to hearing an audio-speech on the phone; there are different audio modes best suited for each. Audio Effects also makes it dead simple for Fuel OS users to toggle between audio modes.

Audio Effects is Fuel OS’ endeavor to empower the sounds in your phone, and to do it not just for all apps and games in your phone, but also adapt it for all outputs from your phone, be it Bluetooth, AUX Output or USB.

The Audio Effects in Fuel OS now sports five presets:

These settings can be used as starting points to further fine tune the audio settings to one’s liking and can be saved as multiple ‘Custom Audio Effects’ to work across apps and beyond.

Focusing on usability and convenience, while the user can toy with the graphically intuitive 10 band equalizer to listen to the effects in real time, an expert audiophile can drop deep into advanced settings to tune Reverberations, Surround, Gain Control, Bass Boost and much more and save it in a jiffy.

Shifting sound profiles is also nifty. Apart from the settings menu, at the press of one of the volume rockers, a menu can be dropped down to select your profiles in a couple of quick taps, so you can quickly switch sound profiles as you switch apps.
